Edward studied Economics as both an undergrad and graduate student at the University of California Davis where he received both a Bachelors of Science in Economics and later a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance.
Ed’s professional career began in June of 1994 as an intern with Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisors (WFNIA), which has since merged and grown into the world’s largest asset manager known as Blackrock.
In 1998 he transitioned from the back office operations to front office Portfolio manager at BlackRock. There he was responsible for a great number of different funds from pensions, and ETFs to mutual funds, both US and international.
In early 2017 Ed began discussions with Shilanski and Associates Inc. about joining their team. Having always considered Alaska his "home" Ed was eager to move back and looking for the right investment firm to be a part of. Now, Ed is one of our favorite operations team members because he always arrives with a skip in his step and a smile on his face.
