Rosa Shilanski - Another Side
Rosa C. Shilanski
When Not At Work...
Rosa is a jet setting travel pro! There is not a corner of the world that she plans to leave unexplored in her adventures. She has a natural adaption style to different cultures and customs. She is fluent in kindness and respect. She is often called upon by our clientele to assist them with the "Do's and Don'ts" of planning their big adventures because no one orchestrates a more divine experience than she.
Rosa, the daughter of a military family, spend most of her childhood in Hawaii before California. She met her husband of over 46 years, Floyd Shilanski, in California. They moved to Alaska when Floyd was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force base and while she finds the Last Frontier beautiful in the Summer months she could do without the bitter cold of the Winter months. However, her family refuses to let her leave for too long. Basically, she is hostage. They need and want her around too much for her to spend more time away!
Rosa's career was first started at the Bureau of Land Management (BML) where she worked in a managerial capacity. She left BLM to help Floyd start "Shilanski & Associates Inc." in the 1980's with two small children still at home. Together, they worked tirelessly to build the company based on their shared, mutual interest to help people receive an education on personal finances.
In a male predominant industry, Rosa was truly a pioneer in the world of finance as she hurdled obstacle after obstacle to have a seat at the table. She has worked in the compliance and supervision divisions of the corporation for decades. She has partnered with CEO's across the globe to develop work place protocols and procedures that promote fair, honest working conditions for all employees.
But above all, she is the heart beat of our organization. She is the person we each look most forward to every day. She inspires each of us to try new things, learn new ideas and treat one another with respect and dignity.
She is a grandmother to 6 and adored by all of her grandchildren for her playfulness, spontaneity and bluntness.
May we all try every day to be the person that she sees in us.
